Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - All-in-all a good book on POD book publishing for Amazon
Aiming at Amazon by Aaron Shepard is a good self-publishing book with the aims at selling on Amazon with the major focuses being on amazon.com as the author is American; though there is much about Amazon.co.uk, .ca and all the others, including the various commands in French, German, Japanese and a nice little appendix section - some of which is found in hos other great book whichi mention later.

I have the 2.1 version which i bought directly from amazon.co.uk and part of the book ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Required reading for any author considering the POD market
This booked is packed full of wisdom about how to successfully tap into the Amazon market with a POD title, and actually get your book to sell.

It's a well written, step by step guide that makes a lot of sense, and has certainly made me realise what I have long suspected: a POD book can compete with 'traditionally published' titles, and be profitable, if you do it right.

Aaron has clearly had success in the POD market, so you get the benefit of someone who has actually 'been ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Disapointed
I was disappointed by this book. Sound advice on how to write and format a book was wasted on me because I had already written and published my book - nor do I agree with the author's advice on using the ugly 'Georgia' typeface. The recommendation of the 'Lightning Source' company for POD came to nothing for me because the UK branch was only interested in volume publishing and didn't do A5. Nor is the US 'Author Central' available in the UK. There are some useful tips on how to improve the chances of ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Eat your heart out, "conventional" publishers and booksellers
Although in my own recent book on how to write non-fiction I do share my experience in selling books to "conventional" publishers as well as self-publishing and other alternatives, Aaron's book was music to my, er, eyes. Much as the "conventional" publishers and booksellers might kick and scream, self-publishing, selling books online and increasingly, electronic book formats are going largely to replace the old ways. Especially if you want to write non-fiction, don't just buy my book (although it would ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A useful addition to the bookshelf
It is a must for self publishers and is full of ideas. I wish I'd seen it earlier.
