Tangled Hearts

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Tangled Hearts
Buy this book it is great.

In 1693, Richelda Shaw promises her father, an adherent of James IInd, to do her best to regain Field House, her ancestors' home sequestered after Charles I's execution.

Richelda treasures the ring her father gives her and dreams of finding a treasure trove supposedly hidden in Field House.

After her parents die Richelda is penniless and alone except for one loyal servant. Richelda's Aunt Isobel rescues Richelda from poverty on condition that she marries Viscount Chesney the new owner of Field House. Although Chesney is handsome and kind and Richelda is attracted to him she is loyal to Dudley her childhood friend whom she is in love with. However, before Richelda can marry her true love she faces mortal danger from an unexpected source.

It seems Richelda has no control over her life but in adversity but she is too high spirited to be coerced into acting against her wishes.

From the beginning to the end of the novel I wanted Richelda to triumph over evil and find happiness.

In Tangled Hearts Rosemary Morris has created memorable characters and I particularly enjoyed the amusing dialogue between Richelda and Chesney. This passionate love story kept me awake until late at night when the twist in the tale at the end took me completely by surprise.

Rosemary Morris swept me back in time to an era of duty and honour, false promises and dishonour, riches and poverty, the stink of old London, magnificent clothes and sumptuous food.

I am looking forward to reading her next novel,

L. Rach
