This book deals with The Sinclair Method (TSM). I am in the UK and I tried TSM for 38 weeks. I got my naltrexone prescription from a private doctor. This book is misleading regarding the timescale to reach a cure. It talks about three to four months but this is wildly optimistic. Most people take far longer, if TSM is successful. If this realy works, and previous research suggests that it does in 78% of patients [and 100% of lab rats]. What a godsend for people struggling with alcoholism.I do not know if this drug is available the UK, or if GPs will prescribe it.

I was so excited when i found this book on amazon uk. When I it read i wanted to try nalrexone myself, only i discovered you can not get it in the uk, it is only available if you are an heroin addict. So its not much good reading about a "cure" when you can;t try it your self. Would recommend this book for people outside the uk though

As a drinker who has tried many times to cut down or quit entirely without any success, I must admit I picked up this book with a certain amount of skepticism.
The book describes how Dr. Sinclair discovered with the help of some laboratory rats that by using an opioid antagonist drug, Naltrexone, or Revia, (as it is more commonly know as in Europe) the rat's desire for alcohol was diminished or extinguished completely over a short period of time.
